Tiga would love to comb your hair. Your hair is such a mess.

Montreal born Tiga really needs no introduction.  In 1998 he started Turbo Recordings which has had releases from some of the biggest names in the electro house, tech house, indie dance/nu disco game (D.I.M., Proxy, Boys Noize, Brodinski, Chromeo and Kolombo to name a few).  The ultra flamboyant DJ and producer has released two full length LPs, ‘Sexor’ (2006) and ‘Ciao!’ (2009), that get better and better with each listen.  ‘Ciao!’ was the result of 15 months of collaborations with the likes of Soulwax (mmm…Soulwax), Jesper Dahlback, Gonzales, Jori Hulkonnen, Jake Shears and James Murphy. wa wa we wa!  He’s teamed up with the badass Zombie Nation to form ZZT who have some new releases coming soon (here’s a video of Erol Alkan tearing up a club with the new ZZT).  Just a few weeks ago Boys Noize released the ‘Transmission Remixes Part 2′ EP and the Tiga remix is by far the best.  This guy has gotten his dirty little hands into so many cookie jars that it’s hard to imagine he hasn’t influenced the majority of the DJs and producers out there in these genres.

The Luck of the Irish

Irish producers Arveene & Misk have been around for years and made their marks individually around the UK and Ireland.  A while back they joined forces and exploded into popularity early last year when their remix of Mr. Oizo’s ‘Erreur Jean’ was released on Oizo’s ‘Pourriture’ EP.  Oizo told them that he thought they finished the track.  Pretty awesome praise yeah?  With support from Erol Alkan and the majority of the Ed Banger crew, it’s hard to ignore them.  Arveene describes the sound as “in one word, bass-dis-tec-house? And err lazer?”  Confused?  I’ll let the music do the talking.

I Hate Gregg Gillis

Now let’s get one thing straight.  I hate Gregg Gillis (Girl Talk).  I’m really not a fan of his mashups and I still to this day can’t figure out why people tear their eyeballs out of their heads at his gigs.  I’m sure it’s a great show live but I just never bought into his shit.  Because of him I lost all interest in mashups until I was introduced to Ludachrist.  Consisting of Jake (aka Ewun aka Kill The Noise) and Knick (who is one part Evol Intent), this duo has been pumping out absolutely solid mashups.  I’ve been trying to find a good quality recording of this track and I finally found it thanks to the guys over at Mad Decent.  Ludachrist does an excellent job combining Major Lazer’s ‘Pon de Floor’ and the theme you all know from Beverly Hills Cop.  Do I really need to say anything more? lets be serious.
